Kastri & Keratokampos This quiet little village of Keratokampos / Kastri situated next to the sea, is a small resort that has long been enjoyed by the locals with "weekenders" coming from Heraklion and Athenians descending in high season.  The last few years have now also attracted visitors from the European market who have slowly begun to discover and enjoy the tranquillity and real village atmosphere of this village. You find Keratokampos at the end of a long road that winds down from Ano Viannos, the largest village in the area and only 15 mins away, through picturesque scenery of pretty hillside villages and olive groves. Life in Keratokampos/Kastri centres along the main street which lines the sand and shingle beach. There are tavernas and cafés ensuring you dont need to go to far to experience real Cretan cooking at its best. |
